Gold jewelry care

Yellow gold does not require special polish, so a soft jewelry cloth can remove dirt and bring back the luster and beautiful shine. In the Riverwalk at New Orleans, a lady called my attention saying she’s going to clean my rings. I know, they would charge me, or if not, of course would sell something I might not like a hundred per cent. But hubby could not resist it, so I let her clean my rings which have never been cleaned. And indeed, after cleaning it with, (what else but their solution, or did it help at all?) and wiping with a ’special cloth’, my rings instantly look like new with its very beautiful color and shine. He ended up buying the cloth and solution, which were it me, I would never buy. We don’t have to spend a penny for bringing back the luster of our gold jewelry, but regular wiping and cleaning it soft cloth will do.

To enhance the whiteness of the white gold, it often plated with rhodium, a shiny, white and extremely hard metal. Over time and depending the amount of wear to your white gold jewelry, this rhodium may wear off, thus revealing the original and true color of the gold metal. Just replate it to restore the whiteness of your jewelry.
