A simple cake

I remembered it was his birthday when he got admitted to the hospital due to recurrent fever with chills. We celebrated his birthday in his room and I just bought him a cake as my birthday gifts for him. I made him happy and smiled in spite of the bad feeling he is experiencing that time but thanked God after three days of admission he was discharged, recovered and renewed. Now that his birthday is approaching I just hope that what happened last year will never be happen again.

The first time I knew I’m pregnant

I was ten days delayed way back and we started to suspect that I’m pregnant. Showing some unusualities in my face like big pimples. Deep inside me I know something is going on maybe hormonal changes. I texted our eldest sister about having some big pimples that I don’t usually experienced, I thought she got what I’m trying to convey her that maybe I’m pregnant but of course I never tell her yet the possibility of me being pregnant. We never concluded for I used to have an irregular menstruation until we decided to have pregnancy test to clear our minds and thought.

It was December 25, 2009 when my husband offered me the pregnancy test kit. I really don’t understand my feeling that time, I am very afraid to know the result. It was really a mixed emotion of fear, excitements and happiness. I preserved my urine and when I am dropping it to the test I was screaming and it’s like I am flying and was really excited. Me and my hubby was at our room and everybody in house was never had an idea that we are having a pregnancy test inside. As we saw the first line we hold our breath and said it’s negative but after a second another line appeared. Our tears both fell down and my hubby hug me so tight and saying ‘congratulation my love, I am now a daddy! Thank you Lord!! With bended knees we are both crying so hard. It’s an answered prayer of ours. We are still in the denial stage at the moment and question, is this really true? Am I really pregnant? And thinking maybe the PT is defective? A lot of questions floating on my mind until I shared to my eldest sister and showed to her the two red lined pregnancy test and she shouted ‘congratulation I am now an aunt’…still tears fell from my cheeks. I said Te I need to repeat PT for I am not convinced, she said ok you can repeat it but that is already confirmed that you’re pregnant. After that we went to mother and father to tell the biggest event of the year. I am very proud and happy to carry our first baby inside me. It was the best Christmas gift God gave to us. All the glory and honor belongs to Him. Now our baby turns 9 months. Nine months of giving us joy and peace.. We thanked God everyday of our lives.

A big surprise

My sister loves surprise; she used to surprise us in many ways. She never told us that she is coming from Sudan South Africa. We went to the airport to meet my other sister from Oman but surprisingly, we saw them together; they arranged their flight so they can have same plane and schedule. They just meet at Abu Dhabi airport. She only has eleven days vacation and we’re so happy to see my sisters in the airport. Thank God for the opportunity he gave to my sister, she worked in a humanitarian group and can take rest and relaxation every three months where she can go home and be with us in a very short time.

Body changes; even how beautiful we are in our younger years there will always a time beauty fades and that is when we grow old. Skin become sagged and loose, wrinkle appears especially in the face. My mother is now fond of using beauty products like anti wrinkle cream; she’s getting more conscious with the changes in her. When I see my mom’s hand, I felt something in my heart; Oh God! She starts to have skin loosening; my mom is entering old years. I just can’t imagine the work of her hands in raising us seven children. She’s a very responsible and workaholic mother. I really love my mom and we, her children will be the hands that will guide and the light when she see nothing but darkness in her very old years.

Missing them

They are always on my mind, but this day my mind is occupied to them; I really miss my sisters who are away from us, they leaving abroad to work and help the family. They are a hero. This maybe sound corny but truly I wish they are with us now especially this time that they encounters problems. Mama and Papa miss them more. I just miss my old life, my single life, the time when we all in our room, laughing and teasing each other. If I could just back time, will spend more time with them while they are still with us. But life must go on, waiting for that great reunion maybe next year.

The joy of giving

In every gathering we used to have a short meditation to be inserted in the program, it is good to be reminded by God’s word and this is what I like in this family circle. I just want to share words of encouragement shared by the speaker while we are on vacation. He talked about the Joy of sharing. Sharing with what you have to others, we came here on earth naked therefore we will also leave naked, we can’t bring anything from our treasure and possession here on earth. It is a very nice feeling when you give some of your blessings and that will make a blessing to others too. God loves a cheerful giver. Reflect on this.

Chain smoker

My father is a smoker for so long now, since he was a teenager. It weakens his body and has a difficulty of breathing. We his children; always encouraged him to stop but he can’t do it. We are now looking for some option. Just like giving him a gift ecigarette holiday coupon to give him a smoke-tip and more info about the effect of cigarette on his body and someday it will help him stop his urge to smoke.

Just arrived from a very long travel

At last we arrived home from five days vacation at Ozamiz city also attended my sister in law’s wedding there. What a tiring journey, we drove sixteen hours plus I carried my four months old daughter and feed her all the time and I’m getting a hard time in positioning her while breastfeeding and to make her comfortable since the space is limited, she’s crying most of the time. It is very difficult to travel with baby, it doubled the load. I have no choice to bring her to attend my hubby’s sister’s wedding which only happen once and to have a family getaway and enjoy while not at work. We have a great time there in spite with a very tiring travel; we witnessed the lights and landscape of the Christmas symbol capital of the Philippines, indeed a very nice place.

I can now felt the ache which affects my whole body especially my arms and back.huhu I need a lot of rest to gain my energy back.

Welcome 2011

2010 have passed. Forgetting the bad things happened and considering that past is past and remember the good memory we had in 2010. We are now facing another year again 2011. We will start our new year with hope that there will be a great rainbow awaits us. There’s a rainbow after a hard rain. Surely good things will follow.
