Durian is my favourite. When we can’t buy a durian fruit we resort to buy a durian ice cream. Durian is known as the “King of fruits”, a label that can be attributed to its formidable look and overpowering odour. Due to its unusual characteristics, the durian has been referenced or parodied in various cultural mediums.

The edible flesh emits a distinctive odour, strong and penetrating even when the husk is intact. Regarded by some as fragrant, others as overpowering and offensive, the smell evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust. Other people say that “it smells like hell but it tastes like heaven” but for me and my family “it smells and tastes like heaven.”

Sleeping in the right time is one of the ways to feel full charged and feel beautiful inside out. An adult needs to have about 6-8 hours of sleep. As much as possible we need to be able to sleep well to face the next day with confidence.
Try, if possible to eat your evening meal at least 3 hours before you go to bed. This means you have enough time to digest your food which in turn will avoid that bloated feeling and this will allow for better beauty sleep!

Snowmobile parts

Autumn has officially begun and we can feel the nice cooling of the temperature outside. In several weeks there would be snow in some part of the country. I think it is a good time now to inspect our equipments and make sure everything works okay so that when they are needed, they are readily available. You may need to check the snowmobile parts to be sure they are still functional, for it not, you still have a lot of time for replacement which you can order from auto and equipment stores such as jazz motor sports. I am kind of ‘wow’ when I found out that shipping is just $5 on all orders! So wrench now, ride later.

After Gustav

I am very thankful that hurricane Gustav passed without so much damage here. There are limbs and leaves around that the ground looks so green, aside from the grasses, but other than that, everything is fine. We lost electricity, water and phone service for four days, but even alone in the house, I was fine. I had prepared good for it and we didn’t have problems. I just pray we will be spared from another yet natural drama.

It’s mowing time! But I did not cut the grass this week for I need as much of them to hold and protect the soil from the effects of the hurricane Gustav. Tonight till tomorrow we will be expecting to be in the eye of the storm, and suffer the terrible weather associated with it for the whole week. We just hope for the best despite the odds. There are no advisories in our place other than using the common sense in this critical time, so we just prepared for things we expect that will happen throughout the whole week and beyond. Be well.

Yeahhy, it is summer, the weather is so nice outside the home to our little paradise, the garden. Alas, I did not wish for red bug bites. The itch they cause are so irritating once bitten. And no matter how you control it, still it is kind of satisfying to scratch it, sadly, for scars. So before you get to that, here are some tips for prevention of these chigger bites:

Wear tight, protective clothing and long pants, socks and shoes. Of course insect repellent helps much to keep those bugs away. I spray one repellent before I wear my clothes, and another, stronger repellent I spray on the outside, the shoes and the socks as they tend to climb up…
