Nurses nowadays are becoming large in number. As an observation in most nursing schools, many are taking up Bachelor of Science in Nursing. What really reasons are why many are taking up this course? Maybe one of the reasons is because of the white uniform which is very attractive. Well for me, I took up this course because I felt the need of the sick people and even others are dying in pain. They need someone to help them feel that they are important and there’s still hope. That’s the vital role of a nurse. Nursing is really a noble job

Driven by my dream, I was able to finish and luckily passed the Nurse Licensure exam for just only one take. In my novice stage, I am learning the true essence of a nurse and slowly applied it into my practice. It is not easy to be one because people are expecting a lot from us. We are oftentimes misunderstood by others; they will come to us asking like ‘what’s the cure of my disease’? or what medicine I am going to take? Nurses are not allowed to prescribe medicine though we know; it is out of our scope of responsibility. If we do, we can be sued for malpractice. We are just following the Doctor’s order.

I really love my profession and the responsibilities it brings. I love to wear and see nurses in scrub suit especially in the ER where all of them wear which differ them from ward nurses. I was exposed to all areas in the hospital and ER is the most challenging one. But OR is really my area of choice. Most of the Nurses today are now wearing fashion scrubs which really very nice. I have also noticed that most ER nurses are male for the reason that they are stronger and can carry heavy patient during emergency.
