I went to the doctor yesterday to have my daughter checked-up. She has two days on and off fever and that caused me so worried. Symptom similar to dengue hemorrhagic fever and that is very fatal. My sister accompanied me together with my daughter of course. After 2 hours of waiting, the doctor arrived at exactly 11am and we still in the number four in line so more waiting until my name was called. It’s our turn and we get inside the doctor’s room and interview started about the history of my baby’s fever episode. My baby’s temperature that time was 37.5’C normal coz I just gave her paracetamol 1 hour prior. He did some physical exam like auscultation and palpation. He said my baby’s lungs are clear. Upon palpation the doctor palpated 4 lymph nodes in my baby’s neck so he suspected my baby for having primary complex of course not diagnosed until confirmatory lab done. This worries me much since my baby is exposed to our family driver who has history of tuberculosis but treated three years ago. PPD test will be done next week I just hope for a negative result. My baby has a runny nose with very clear discharge that is maybe the cause of her fever and also incisor teeth started to erupt in her gums that caused so much irritability. The doctor requested some laboratory exam like CBC, platelet count to determine the presence of dengue virus, and urinalysis for possible UTI and the result was all normal. Thanks God. The doctor gave us option is the fever still persist in 2 days more, platelet count need to be repeated for proper management. Lord I know you are in control of everything. Give me fighting spirit to overcome this problem I am facing now. Amen.
